Skinboosters

A Skinbooster is a new injectable treatment that is used to create luminous skin in a natural way by gently and naturally smoothing the skin from the inside out. It has been used in Europe for over 12 years and has been proven to be exceptionally safe.

Each treatment involves microinjections of a long lasting hyaluronic acid also called stabilized HA. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body that attracts and holds water. It’s function in the skin is to create elasticity. When it is injected into the dermis it brings deep hydration to the treated area, giving the skin a glowing, firm and luminous look. Skinboosters are different from neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport and also different from fillers. Skinboosters change the quality of the skin, improve the texture and improve the overall health of the skin. It is truly a revolutionary anti-aging treatment that can be used on all skin types.

A typical treatment program with a Skinbooster is made up of three initial treatments one month apart and the fourth treatment is 6 months later. Maintenance treatments are performed twice per year after that. Skinbooster treatments are to be performed by a trained and certified physician.

Treatment areas: face, neck and hands as well as areas with acne scarring

Who are Skinboosters suitable for?

  • A person who would like to improve the overall health and texture of their skin
  • A person who would like to have a treatment but does not want to volumize their face
  • A person who would like more luminous skin
  • A person with dry, normal or oily skin

Neuromodulators

Treat dynamic wrinkles, those caused by muscle movement such as smiling or frowning.

Neuromodulators work by reducing muscle activity by blocking nerve impulses that cause the muscle to contract. Neuromodulators have been used in medicine for over 30 years for a variety of conditions such as muscle spasms, strabidmus (crossed eyes), excessive sweating to name a few.

In cosmetic medicine, neuromodulators are used to soften or eliminate wrinkles. The product takes about 3-7 days to “kick in” and lasts for around 3-6 months. Neuromodulators are used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines and smoker’s lines around the mouth.

Dermal Fillers

Treat static wrinkles, those that are visible when the face is relaxed and at rest. Dermal fillers are used for facial volume and deeper wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are primarily made from hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar naturally found in our bodies. It is a powerful moisture binding molecule that holds up to 1000 times its weight in water. Babies are born with a high level of hyaluronic acid in their skin which is why their skin looks so soft and supple.

In cosmetic medicine, dermal fillers are used to plump up deep wrinkles and nasolabial folds on the face and also add volume to sunken areas such as temples, cheeks and tear troughs. Dermal fillers are also used for lip augmentation and last 9-12 months. There are many different types of fillers on the market which are used to treat different areas on the face and types of wrinkles. Our dermatologists are experts at selecting the right dermal filler for you.
